Sick Leave Bank
Article 27.2.1 - The Association and the District agree to create a Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank effective July 1, 1993. The Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank shall be funded in accordance with the terms of section 27.3 (Contract of Agreement between the Ventura Unified School District and Ventura Classified Employees Association).
27.2.1.1 The intent of the Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank is to provide additional coverage for bargaining unit members who have suffered a catastrophic illness or injury. Read the complete article.

The California Teachers Association — established in 1863 as the California Educational Society — has from the beginning been highly vocal in its stand against the neglect of our state's children. In 1866 educators' voices resounded in Sacramento and were heard, resulting in the establishment of free public education for children in California.

Political action is very important to public education. CTA takes an active role in the political process to ensure friends of education are elected to public office and bills that enhance education and the teaching profession are enacted. Since 1863, CTA has been committed to keeping public education a top priority in California. This election year is no exception.

 

WHO Award -
Teri Roots, VCEA President, is this years' VCEA WHO recipient. Teri currently works at Buena High School as a School Support Secretary. She has been with the Ventura Unified School District for over fourteen years. Teri has done an outstanding job and is an asset to the Association. Congratulations Teri!
